Gianluca Scialfa's career as a hotelier began at an early age in his family's guesthouse in Cesenatico, where from the earliest years of his life he got a taste of that innate ability for hospitality that has always distinguished the tourism on the Riviera, so much so as to make it a unique model. His career, marked by an early inclination towards management in the hotel industry, took him, at the young age of fourteen, to Germany where he found employment as a bartender. This experience, in addition to increasing his technical and professional skills in the beverage sector as well as his increased knowledge of languages, allowed him to witness a more extensive form of hotel management, compared to what was the typical family management that existed in the Romagna region. He then departed for Paris, where he found work as a waiter in a 5-star hotel.
This new adventure, as well as improving his knowledge of the French language, enabled him to learn the most advanced techniques of dining room service and the all-round management of food related services. However, he did not forget his native Romagna, a land he deeply loved, to which he felt deep attachment and where, during the summer seasons, he continued to work in the family guesthouse in Cesenatico. His passion for the world of hospitality, his experience abroad, which allowed him to acquire highly technical and specialized skills, and the necessity to deal with increasingly complex business realities, led him, at the age of eighteen, to leave the family pension to continue his work experience in other hotel establishments on the Riviera Romagnola

1990

These experiences further enhanced his career and in 1990, at the age of twenty-five, he began to work as a hotelier by opening his first hotel.

1995

As an expert of the global tourism market, who is always attentive to innovation, he was the first hotelier to introduce "All-Inclusive" services to the Adriatic Riviera Romagnola in 1995.

2004

In 2004, he founded the company Blu Lido Hotels together with his long-standing friend Emilio Montaguti. Emilio Montaguti, thanks to years of experience as hotel manager among the best foreign tourist villages and as artistic director on cruise ships, was able to add significant "value" to the company, by bringing along much know-how from the entertainment and performance sector. The new company first managed Hotel San Pietro**** in Cesenatico and then acquired three small hotels and an adjacent park of 6000 m2. This block was then transformed into the Metropolitan Village of Cesenatico, thus introducing a new innovative element to the Riviera Romagnola, namely a holiday village, which until then had only been run and managed by Italian and foreign tour operators. The Metropolitan Village was, and still is, distinguished by a very clear managerial decision: to emphasising the prime "value" of all Italians, namely the family. This is why children have become the focus point of Blu Lido, around which all services are developed, with the aim of making the little guests, and consequently their mothers, happy.

2009

Five years later, the company acquired Hotel Mokambo in Cesenatico and completely rebuilt it following a design that mirrors a modern and dynamic society, where it is easy to identify architectural elements with international influences, which were an inspiration to Gianluca. When one looks at the Mokambo, for example, the mind cannot help but wander to Miami! The management of Mokambo was entrusted to Shore Hotels, a company Gianluca created together with his long-time secretary Susanne Erculei. Susanne's career began in 1990 as Gianluca's secretary and in 1996 led her to become the executive director of two properties managed by Scialfa. Over the years, Susanne has focused her attention, and her studies, not only on hotel management, but also on the management of personnel. She directly manages the recruitment and training of all employees working for Shore Hotels, with the aim of achieving an excellent corporate structure without ever neglecting the development of the actual people who work there, as they are the true “added value” of any company. Over the years, the two companies have continued to examine and observe the tourism market and its dynamics. An ever-changing world subject to constant developments, especially with the advent of new web technologies that have transformed not only the way people choose and buy but also their lifestyle.

2016

In order to be able to respond to the various needs of its guests in the most personalised manner, Color Holiday was founded in 2016 and includes the management of all properties from Blu Lido and Shore Hotels, with a total of over 150,000 guests, 500 rooms and 200 employees. Nowadays Color Holiday can offer divers types of tourism facilities:
